AMD, Intel, and Xilinx report earnings early in the quarterly reporting cycle, while NVIDIA will report their earnings in mid-February. All the products of these vendors are currently tracked by Liftr Insight’s Liftr Cloud Components Tracker.
As a friendly reminder, if you were a Liftr Cloud Components Tracker customer, you would have access to the data quoted in this video, and more, only three weeks into the new year.
Xilinx
Alibaba Cloud announced that Xilinx instance types are being used by their cloud services enterprise customers, sharing that Xilinx FPGAs helped its retail platform reliability and security during China’s Singles Day.
Xilinx is anticipating that its upcoming Versal AI engine will contribute more toward data center success, but customers are evaluating Versal development boards at this stage.
Our Liftr Cloud Components Tracker reports that Xilinx closed 2019 with just over 4% share of all accelerator chips offered in direct-attach accelerator instance types by the top four clouds. All of these instance types use Xilinx Virtex UltraScale+ chips—Liftr Insights has not yet detected Alveo add-in boards or Versal chips in instance types offered at the top four public clouds.
Liftr Insights provides market intelligence as a platform to enable investors to make more informed investment decisions on internet-attached infrastructure. Stay tuned for NVIDIA’s earnings report analysis which will be available in mid-February 2020.
