Liftr Look Ahead: January 2020 Earnings Reports - Intel
AMD, Intel, and Xilinx report earnings early in the quarterly reporting cycle, while NVIDIA will report their earnings in mid-February. All the products of these vendors are currently tracked by Liftr Insight’s Liftr Cloud Components Tracker.
As a friendly reminder, if you were a Liftr Cloud Components Tracker customer, you would have access to the data quoted in this video, and more, only three weeks into the new year.
Intel touted a strategic agreement with Alibaba to support upcoming Tokyo and Beijing Olympics with Xeon scalable processors, Optane persistent memory and Intel software. In talking about product releases for its 10nm fabrication process, Intel mentioned AI acceleration and, almost as an aside, its first discrete GPU and upcoming AgileX FPGAs. Intel said it would launch “successive” products for AI inference acceleration during 2020, including training and inferencing accelerators from its recent Habana Labs acquisition, but did not reference GPUs or FPGAs in an AI context. Intel does not yet sell discrete GPUs and its custom neural network (CAN) chips are not yet deployed in the top four public clouds. But you can be sure that we will be tracking when they do.
