Alibaba Cloud’s overall Liftr Cloud Index score (64.1, -0.5%) dipped based on reductions in its Reliability and Adaptability scores that were offset by an increase in Sentiment. Its Reliability score (95.9, -5.2%) fell because of a reported I/O hang error based outage in its Elastic Container Service (ECS) in North China-2 region. Alibaba Cloud’s Adaptability score (34.3, -0.6%) dipped as its marketplace offerings shrank slightly from 290 to 289 applications. Sentiment (108.0, +2.2%) was up, but again, was not driven as much by positive news in the market as it was the smaller base of interactions. Amazon AWS overall (106.5, -0.2%) dropped slightly as Sentiment (99.1, -2.5%) returned to normal levels following Mobile World Congress. News about new security features raised AWS’s Security score (108.3, +0.9%), helping offset the reduction in Sentiment. Nonetheless, AWS’s Security score is nearly 20 points below Microsoft Azure’s. Google Cloud’s overall index score (80.5, -0.2%) was down similar to the others based on the reduction in Sentiment (102.7, -2.2%) and was helped mildly by an increase in Adaptability (47.7, +0.4%) as new marketplace offerings increased from 638 applications to 643. Microsoft Azure was down overall (104.1, -0.2%). Its Sentiment score (98.6, -1.6%) was lowest among the tracked CSPs for the week, but its Instance score (126.3, -0.5%) remains the highest after easily absorbing a slight dip. |
