A recent survey from Gartner of 461 government CIOs revealed that the cloud is the single largest line item on agency budgets for 2018. Nokia has announced plans to open three new cloud collaboration hubs. In order to better compete with AWS and Google Cloud, Microsoft is dropping the price of its standard support tier for Azure. In response to growing demand in the Asia Pacific region, AWS is opening a third availability zone in Singapore. SAP acquired Callidus Software in a $2.1 billion deal. Google Cloud and MobileIron are teaming up to create a new online marketplace for businesses interested in purchasing cloud services for employees.
