Amazon Web Services has launched a new strategy to stand out in the cutthroat cloud market: a multi-million dollar ad campaign.
The cloud industry’s dominant player has rolled out a series of television spots, web videos and billboards to promote its cloud services as part of its first major brand campaign.
The effort is focused on winning over new C-level customers, according to The Seattle Times, and represents a new push by Amazon as competitors increase pressure and try to snatch market share.
Ad campaigns are not new for cloud providers. IBM is currently airing its own cloud television ads. Meanwhile, Microsoft has also made its cloud computing products a focus of big ad campaigns in the past.
The Amazon cloud ad campaign is called “Build On AWS” and center around the idea of DIY developers and programmers. Watch the ad below.
